Resolution is not coverage. Most useless footage comes from cameras pointed at the wrong thing.
A camera that sees everything usually identifies nobody. Start from the questions you will ask after an incident — who entered, which vehicle, what was carried — and place one camera per question.
Choke points beat wide angles. An entrance camera at face height with controlled backlighting delivers more evidential value than four ceiling domes covering an open yard.
Finally, verify retention and time sync. Footage that exists but is timestamped incorrectly is rarely useful to anyone.
