Full rewire of an older house, Kasma

The brief

A house with wiring several decades old, no RCD protection, and effectively the whole property on two circuits. Insulation had perished in several places, and Gilan humidity had done its part.

How it was done

1. 01 Old wiring stripped out completely and new containment run
2. 02 Split into eleven circuits: lighting, sockets, kitchen, cooling and fixed equipment
3. 03 30 mA RCD protection on socket circuits and wet areas
4. 04 New earth pit installed and its resistance measured with an earth tester
5. 05 Metal pipework bonded and protective connections made
6. 06 Every circuit insulation tested, with a single-line diagram and circuit schedule handed over

The outcome

The house now has shock protection, and one fault no longer darkens the rest of it. The insulation and earth resistance figures went to the owner as a baseline for the future.
