Smart lighting and thermostat for a flat, Bolvar-e Moallem, Rasht

The brief

A three-bedroom flat whose occupants were out for long hours while the boiler ran high all day. They wanted to control the heating remotely and have the entrance and hallway lights come on as they arrived, without touching tiles or plaster.

How it was done

1. 01 Switch boxes checked for a neutral and the right module chosen for each point
2. 02 Wireless modules fitted behind the existing switches rather than replacing them
3. 03 Smart thermostat compatible with the boiler installed and a daily schedule set
4. 04 Local controller set up so schedules and switches work without internet
5. 05 Arrive, leave and night scenes defined, with low hallway lighting at night
6. 06 Hands-on walkthrough and a one-page guide handed over

The outcome

The boiler runs low while the flat is empty and warms it before the occupants get home. The wall switches work as before and nothing was broken out.
